Roe Ethridge's self published book of nearly forty photographs evolved from a commission for Roy McMakin furniture makers. Exploiting the possibilities of the genre both formally and conceptually he uses close-up shots of ordinary objects and generic viewpoints to present them as deadpan icons while exploring the theme of domesticity and consumerism. A beautiful and strong work.
